I am concerned about my memory

I have been newly diagnosed

Having a new diagnosis of dementia can be a challenging time for both the individual and loved ones. Often it is very overwhelming to receive the diagnosis and so it can be helpful to talk this through with a health professional who has an interest and understanding of the condition. Appointments at Sensus are deliberately long and uninterrupted so that you can be heard and have an opportunity to ask questions. Some questions you may want to ask can be found here

I was diagnosed a few years ago

Dementia is a progressive condition and often things change about your needs or supports. At Sensus Cognition we offer a review of your current situation, focusing on a holistic assessment and looking at your strengths, so that we can suggest appropriate providers or supports to maximise your independence. Dr Stephanie Daly, has endeavoured to source local providers who can support people living with dementia with elements of care such as mental health support, language difficulties and social supports.

I am concerned about a parent or partner

If you have concerns about a relative and their memory but do not know what the next step would be, we are happy to have a confidential short conversation about options. Sometimes people also speak to a counsellor at Dementia Australia. We would advocate that it is beneficial to be assessed so that opportunities to reduce the impact, delay progression and  support you with independence are accessible. You can email us here.

Ongoing Support

Helping support you through your future journey is central to what we do.  Having a regular point of contact helps continuity of care to thrive, enabling our team to support your individual needs as necessary.

REFERRALS

Referrals can be made by you or a person whom you have appointed to refer on your behalf. It is important to note that you do not need a Doctor's referral.
